Looks like Beck is getting into the water-cooled market. Sounds good to me, more competition makes for better cars and more options.

Sorry if someone got to this before this.

What a beautiful presentation and a very nice package. It's clean -- no doodads hanging off of it, no chrome breaking up the body. (Too bad about the seat orange belt clickers, but that's not a deal-breaker.)
It looks like somebody was pretty careful to not include shots of what's immediately behind the seats, though. What kind of treatment did that 'back seat' area get? A sectioned firewall or something?
I can't get over how gorgeous the setting is. Very distracting.
Great points there Cory; if you look at the engine photos carefully you'll notice that it doesn't seem like it's sitting inside the engine compartment area. Somehow I suspect the arrangement is very similar to a SAW in which the engine is behind the driver and passenger and the engine compartment serves as another storage area. The car looks very nice, though. Maybe Carey will jump in and give us more details.
David and Lane are correct. This is one of 2 (or 3) built by a hot rod shop in Colorado, for BSC, using one of our kits.
It is simply a Suby adapted to the VW gearbox. Don't know why they cropped the rear seats out because nothing back there changed... at least when I saw this car it hadn't.

This is really a fairly simple process that can be done to just about any speedster with a some light fabrication. I made all of the same modifications to my blue/red car before I decided to go another route with it...

So... here's the first posted pictures of our newest watercooled project, which we quietly worked on throughout 2006.
We are using the BMW Mini Cooper drivetrain, mid engine. The first car, engine pictured below, has the early 5spd. box. We also have a new 6 speed and a CVT automatic which will be incorporated into builds in the coming months.
Other items we kept from the Mini are the A/C system (optional), heater core, smog equipment, electronic throttle and cable shift system (all standard).
Rear suspension is DeDion, much like what you have seen in our watercooled spyder.
The former engine bay has been reinforced to povide a full sized trunk.

Engines will be available from a donor vehicle, OR BRAND NEW via TriTec (the manufacturer). BMW only holds exclusive rights to the supercharger, so those will not be available on a new motor, however, TriTec has donated their R&D department for both wiring and development of a turbo charger, exclusive to the Beck/Chamonix cars.
We have tentatively scheduled production to begin in late April/early May for the first run of production cars.
