Hello everyone,
I would like to invest in some air tools for working on the car when I buy one, and for general house use. I'd like to hear what are the most common air tools that get used as well as the best brands. I don't mind spending more for tools if there's a noticable difference in quality, life time and durability.

All opinions are welcome,

Greg

If you only occasionally use them - and keep them oiled. Harbor Freight Tools are best bang for the $$$. Have muffler chistle ($5), reversible drill ($25), 1/2" ratchet ($20), DNA sander, straight line sander, lug nut wrench, air grinder, air cut off saw. I've used the muffler tool to cut up several VW boddies for recycling as well as cut concrete in basement to install bothroom septic pipes. All are Made in China - they last several years before I pass them on to a beginner and buy a replacement.
I just receaved a new Astro Pneumatic Tool catalog Iv.e used mostly their air tools at home. for several years . I like um there pretty tough.

My only problem is getting up with the tool girl that drives the S&K tool van in this area She is my nearest retailer. i can't always get up with her when I need a tool.
For cataloge sells call 1-800-221-9705. also ask for the nearest retailler near you.
I know this thread has not been active for a while, but thought I would comment as its early on a saturday morning and the boys cartoons are not interesting me.. lol...

I bought my air tools at sears. I have always found craftsman stuff to be top notch. Not the best you can buy, but for the money they are at least going to do what you want them too and be around for a while. I dont see how anyone could need much more for just working on the car in the garage, but you never know. I love mine and nothing sounds better echoing around the neighborhood in the evening than a couple rips from an impact wrench...

Personally, if I had to do it all over again, I would have chosen cordless tools for the few needs I have. Its cheaper unless you are buying a low capacity and quality compressor, easier to store than my big red compressor, and you can take them with you if you need to.

Just my thoughts...

James
