I have a Vintage Speedster with a 1600 motor and a sick single carb.  I owned a 70 bug years ago and had great results when I replaced a sick single carb with dual Weber 34ICTs.  Has anyone installed these on their Vintage Speedsters?  If so where did they buy them from.  Is there anything unique to the Vintage Speedster in terms of throttle cable location that's different from a bug?

Thanks in advance, Grant

CB performance  has Solex Brosols that can be tuned to differnt size engines..

Very versitle  twin carb kit,, and they offer different venturi's and jet kits for then  can be set up as 34s  38s or 40s. if you rebuild later on you can  reuse them. on a bigger engine.  I did have to put in a new cable and re cut it  ..

Here's a trick take a 3 inch long peace of brake line  and cut 4 slots on one end in 1/8 incroments and use a wire crimping tool to crimp it over the cable. You will have to  drill carb cable clamp to match it  but it makes a beautiful factory looking job of a cable install> preasemble on the carb linkage with the cable in it BEFORE you mark and crimp it to make sure you have the right length and make sure both chokes are wide open and carbs are completely closed

Thanks all for input on dual carbs.  I decided (before pulling off my sick single carb and going to a dual carb setup) to try to fix the Bocar 34PICT-3 first.

A $14 carb rebuild kit with a methodical tear down, 24 hour carb soaking, water clean out, air blast, and rebuild did the trick.  Set the throttle idle screw, air volume screw, and air-fuel mixture screw as instructed, put the carb on the car and it started right up and now purrs at idle 800rpm.  In fact, the difference in performance (in addition to finally getting a smooth idle) is so significant that I am thinking that dual carbs are not needed.

I think I'll put the $$ towards converting my 4 lug brake/wheel set up to a Carrerra tribute wide 5 lug brake/wheel set up.  Just have to find where to get the Mangle 15x5-1/2 wheels.

Again, thanks for all the info.  Finally, its happy motoring in the Speedster.

Grant.
