I have a small chrome fire extinguisher that I’d like to mount in my Vintage Speedster. Its location should make it easy to reach, yet not get in the way of clumsy passengers (or driver). I considered placing it on the tunnel, but I’m worried about the fasteners cutting, rubbing, or interfering with the internal cables. Any suggestions?

Have you considered mounting it in the rear seat area on the rear wall? Mine was stolen, hence it's in the "Frunk" now.....Bruce
The only problem with it being in the frunk, Bruce, is that by the time you get out and get it it's too late...

HaHa, you typed "frunk"...
Bill.....Someone on here morphed that Funky Front Trunk into more succinct nomenclature. I kind of liked it so I adopted it.......Just fun stuff !!
Al...yeah, I realize that it will take more time to get it out of the frunk but I can't afford to replace a chrome plated 4# halgard extinguisher more than once.
I DO recommend a large size extinguisher to get the job done. I watched carfire keep right on going after the driver emptied his cool looking little mini extinguisher with no real success.
It seems simple to place an extinguisher in the cockpit but when you look around it is sort of difficult to install one where it doesn't interfere with you, your passenger, or something else. Rusty's is good. It's up out of the way and easy to get to. One might consider that wall of the "rear seat" tub as an alternative. Hmmm..."rear seat tub"??

i also have a handheld behind the drivers seat
Great write up! Hard to figure out why a pro kit is >$500. But you do have talent to make it look easy with professional result.
