Gordon, I wish! The design and installation - including the welds - were done by Anthony - The Sage of Auburn.
Al, yeah oil changes are a little messier, but I guess any installation involves some compromise. We went with the biggest Setrab that would fit - one size up from what some people use - but with about twice the cooling area of the smaller one.
The main design criteria were getting the cooler up and out of harm's way while trying to maximize airflow around it. The space left for the filter meant mounting it sideways so it wouldn't hang down too low. Fitting all the plumbing in the small space and keeping THAT from fouling other things meant using Setrab's oil filter mount, too.
As it is, you can still remove the valve covers without taking anything apart.
