Best Vinyl

I am looking for a good vinyl for my rebuild. Who makes some of the best out there. If there are any good links for prices that would be great too. I am looking for a tan.

Is the Stafast tan the tan taht VS uses on its cars? If so what is a good color vinyl to use that would match?

"Elanta" brand vinyl....it's all I use anymore , looks and feels like leather and reasonable

Alan. Did you mean Allante? That is what Vintage uses and you are right, it's hard to tell the difference. In fact, the last time I was at Vintage, I had to show Kirk the back side of my seat cushion to prove it was actually leather and not Allante.

Not positive, but I think it's called buck.

That color does not look like any of the Allante colors I see. Vintage must use a few options.

Might want to ask the vendor if it's marine grade, less likely to fade.

Looks like that is the Camel color. I guess I need to get some samples. How much is needed for seats, door panels and dash?

Check out Keyston Brothers on Aero Dr. They have tons of cool fabrics and vinyl to look through and touch. Go with marine vinyl. Its tough and made to withstand weather.

I am told my interior is Camel, and it is the second color on Marty's link moreso than the first. It has a slight orange tint to it compared to Buck.

Steve what do your seats look like? Do you have any pics of the car?

What are some good carpet colors that go with the seats? I want a tan type color but some look boring.

Mat - your best best is to go to an auto or boat interior shop. they have massive binders of all the samples (along with prices and availability).

for carpet - many folks go to house carpet stores and look at square weave burber. lots and lots of colours and thicknesses.

buying this stuff from across the country (or internationally) doesn't make sense. if i were you, I'd look at all the local places first.

OK, a few of Troy's photos are up now. I'll take a few more at some point as it really is a beautiful car. I have some on my PC but not in a supported format. Been busy lately, Dad got Lymphoma diagnosis, daughter broke her arm and spent 10 hours in the ER/OR, dog had failing organs and seizures and had to be put down, and son had multiple medical emergencies. His issues are on-going and part of the reason I bought the car. Been to ~15 doctors visits in 3 weeks. When it rains it pours. I miss the dog horribly as I am the world's biggest dog lover. My other dog is a year older and is looking for her still.

Steve. Sorry to hear about all the medical issues your family has recently experienced and about the loss of your dog.
I remember what you told me about your son and I'm curious if you have had a chance to take him on some fun rides in the Speedster yet? Let me know when you do, I'm pretty sure he will be grinning from ear to ear.

He's been out just twice. The first time I picked him up from daycare. He indeed grinned ear to ear. The second ride through the hills into Los gatos sent him into a series of mild seizures while still in the car. We haven't been out together since...

Damn Steve that really sucks. Do you really think the drive caused the seizures or was it coincidence? Also, did you happen to be driving on a stretch of road that had trees with the sun behind them? You probably already know, but flashing lights can often trigger a seizure.

Yup, lots of trees, and late afternoon. Shannon and Hicks road from San Jose to Los gatos is short but beautiful. Can't go to Reno either to see Grandma anymore. Way off topic from Vinyl now. Sent you an e-mail.

Got in on the end of this, Steve. How fortunate some are while others catch hell. Sure hope you get a permanent break from this. Don't have to know you to feel the struggle.
