...or better yet...to Canada!

G'day all...

'Just wondering if any of you could recommend a most reliable and cost-effective way to transport Larry's Silver beauty from his garage in S. Carolina to my garage in British Columbia, Canada!

< Or Seattle >

A bottle of good Napa red to the best coaching tip...

Now....I am amzed no one has come up with this yet. DRIVE it man. Take photos along the way. A cross continent drive in your new Speedster? Awesome.

Car carrier 101. I had my 2 cars transported relatively close, Toronto to Quebec. Only 500 miles by a transport carrier. Cost about $400 each car. But, what I learned. You will more than likely have a carrier that needs to load and unload the car a few times along the route. Since yours is quite a distance, I would suspect that it would be loaded quite a few times. Meaning, that some car jockey is in your car doing donuts on the gravel parking area while they load another series of cars on.

You can get an enclosed carrier, but realistically it will be loaded and unloaded as well along the way. It isn't cost effective to close the truck in SC and put yours in the back and drive it all the way to Vancouver. So keep this in mind. You may want to have a plastic, shrink cover on the car so that SHITE doesn't drip on the top from other cars. DO NOT put a car cover on it, the wind buffeting will destroy the paint.

If you drove it up to Toronto or Montreal or trucked it up. You can put it on a rail car where it will stay all the way to VCR.

Good luck to ya mate and hope all goes well, Glad to hear you can get her into the country. Looks awesome.

I had this rolling chassis shipped from Vintage to my driveway in a enclosed carrier and it was loaded on the top shelf in front. Yes, the driver had several stops along the way but my car was not repeatedly loaded and unloaded as it could not be driven. The car was full of boxes and parts. We had to hand roll it on to the lift gate. The carrier was Select 1 Transport. Also under my car was a new Ferrari. (Maybe my car dripped on it) I think I paid around $700 to get it from Vintage in CA to SC. It would have been less to with a open carrier but because the car was exposed and full of boxes and loose parts I wanted the protection. Select 1 was great and only took 6 days.

Regards,

Larry
