Guys!

I have checked into almost e-v-e-r-y tpt firm from the USA into Canada, and I suggest contacting Hansen Global.

Joanne was outstanding, and she was 20% below Advantage TPT, Dependable Auto Shippers, Fedex...(tell her "6 ft 2" sent you...code for discount)...

From my discussions, I sense it is easier to allow a firm like Hansen to truck it through USA customs. As long as your Speedster's VIN # indicates it is >15 years, it is classified as an antique, and bypasses all the inbound issues.

I am paying $1821.CAD to tpt from Larry's garage in Greenville, SC to the 'Sufferance Warehouse' in Burnaby B.C., where I can choose to have a broker deal with the final clearing process for an extra $200-400.00 (negotiable), and from what I have heard, it is worth the extra money.

With border security being sensitive these days, the border dudes like dealing with their own...so it is worth it.

Yep I called them and they were great. Although the cars were jockeyed a couple of times. I don't think that it was such a big deal. Maybe it was moved twice on the way. From Toronto, they delivered some cars to Ottawa, loaded some more and then delivered the lot to Montreal, then moved the car to a smaller truck to deliver to me. But it was good and on time.

My biggest concern seriously is paint and convertible top protection. Something that will not hinder access to the car for the guy that might want to move it. Maybe have the old owner shrink wrap the top. Shrink wrap the paint? What about the weather? These cars leak, some like a seive. I was trailoring mine back from Carlisle. Top up, windows in and a downpour shorted my radio out. So how about removing the radio and putting it in a baggie.

I don't want to make you worry. But better safe than sorry.
Ray, it was a pleasure to chat with you on the cell phone while you were plying your way on the ferry over to Nanimo. I am following your progress to get your "beast" home and hopefully I can learn by your experience. As I was saying I am a bit of a novice at this speedster stuff but I am going to be down at the Charlotte car show a week tomorrow and John Wodeci (john356custom) has promised to give me a few pointers if I keep buying him beers. Thanks again for the info and I will try and hook up with you at the show John. Cheers Rob.
