On my late '88 CMC bumper brace, there was a large flat metal area that allowed room for drilling alternate bumper brackets locations. Photo before final welding and painting.

Wow! You must have started your build about the same time Wolfgang did!!
Of course, you finished yours......
Cip1 is out of stock on the CSP beam stiffener kit (C31-498-001-111A ). There is no current order for those parts so Cip1 couldn't sell them as a 'back order' so they couldn't honor the $269 sales price at this time.
Their SS sway bar clamp kit (C26-401-141-SET) is on sale for $26.99. Orders over $99 get free shipping and there is 'no' sales tax per their promotion.
While I like CSP parts - especially their shifters. You don't need that quality in a front beam brace. The Empi 3842 product is $41-44. Should it ever fail (its welded steel with no moving parts), you aren't stranded. $44 shipped from the source below .

And $36 from CIP1-
Can't argue with Wolfgang and the price difference is crazy---like 10X for a quite similar item. Thanks, Wolfgang---good advice I'll say. CSP shifter is a much different story---beam braces not so much.
