Yeah, after I checked their site I sort of figured out that they specialized in flipping. They appear to have purchased a a few nice examples, and many more average ones. They are attempting to set the market value by saturating the field with over priced cars. Sad to see the blue coupe wound up in their hoard.
There are a few in their inventory which would be nice weekend cars if they could be had for under 17k. I think my budget has me looking for an unfinished kit. That blue one I missed in Santa Cruz looks better every day. I'm interested in getting something I can finish or resurrect from a neglected state. I'm not interested in flipping it, I just want something to labor over in the garage and enjoy on the weekends.
That black one from earlier in December was wildly overpriced. That white one from a few weeks later was a much better example, but it was on the wrong coast and had no drive train. I guess what I'm seeing is that there are opportunities, you just have to be ready to jump when they turn up.
Not a big deal, patience is the name of this game. The upside is that I now have the cash sitting in the safe and I'll be ready when the next one pops up.
Thanks again for the info,
Ted
