Thanks I wish I could take the credit but they came like this when I bought the car. I have always been a fan of the 911 Turbo's and the 356, so I found the perfect combination of sorts. From what I understand it handles a little better than the regular speedster. I have not driven a regular speedster so I can not validate that comment. I can hardly wait for the spring to come around !

A guess a few more weeks !

Look up Max Zimmer's file, that is a s much of a sneaker you can stuff in the wheel wells.

17 x 9 in front, 17 x 10 in back tires are 245/45/17 in front and 275/40/17 in back. Swingaxle, so the tires come out a little farther than they would on an IRS. A guy from Ohio that had the red widebody at Carlisle, used these wheel and tire sizes, and ended up having to use half-inch spacers in back.

Considering what your working on in the shop that is a great compliment. I can hardly wait to see what your's is going to look like in the dual color scheme. I have been watching your project all along and it is going to be something. I admire all the work that you did to get the car to look the way it does. I simply paid some extra, but that is the extent of the work. Obviously I bust my at work to make the cash, but there is a special something when you drive what you built !

Keep the updates coming !

Thanks

Thanks! I want to see your ride in person -- and you need to drive the Hoopty so you can tell me about handling differences.
I'll be passing your compliments on to Jimmy, too, since he's done all the real hard stuff. (He's the long-haired guy in the photos.)
I am curious about one thing. My wheels and torsion are all closer than they used to be to the car's centerline. Did your car get modifications to its width at all, or does that flare allow for every bit of clearance you needed for those big, fat tires?
Sure looks like you're as wide and as low as you could possibly get. Has to be stable on corners, huh?
Cory:

I do not believe there was any need to change the chassis etc... Basically the extended fenders allowed for the additional width on the tires. I owned a 69 911T and this car handles better on the turns. It does have a much lighter front end and you can feel that. Overall the ride is great and a blast, mind you it has been all cold weather till now. I can hardly wait to see what it feels like with warm air blowing on you !

There is no better ride to give you more Smiles to the gallon than a speedster.

Thanks !
