There will be a service for Bill Webster on October 2nd at 10:00 AM

It has been suggested that after the service we have a run along the coast. I will entertain sugestions on what we would like to do following the services...

I am also planning on having an annual memorial run up the Angeles Crest Highway to Newcombe Ranch on the anniversary of Bill's death starting next year 2011...

My Dad and I will be there to celebrate our friend and send him into the arms of The Father. He was a joy and I'm privileged to have known him. I'm also privileged to know The SOC. There has been a tremendous out pouring of support for Nancy, Bill's son, and each other which has truly touch my heart.

The preliminary plan at this time is for the SOC to have a cruise after the Service in the area behind Pasadena ending at Gerd's house in Simi Valley...This is just in the initial planning stages at this time, I believe Jimbo will be setting a route for us.
I mention this so that you set the time aside for a little gathering of the group..

I'll suggest that the memorial decal be displayed on the bottom right of your speedster's windshield.

Depending on timing I may not make it, my daughter Emily is being honored that day by the Arthritis Foundation (with a ceremony and all), maybe we can make some of it, we will see how the timing works.

Jennifer, perhaps you can meet up with us at Gerd & Carol's house later in the day..

GERD I WANT ONE PLEASE!

I met Bill over an egg sammich and later over a beer. He was , to me , the typical SOC'er. Warm ,friendly and easy to get to know. I feel for his family and close friends. The world was a better place with him in it. My thoughts are with you all as you try to get over the loss.

Mary...Although we need to firm up the plan, It is my understanding that our group will be leaving the service and heading directly over to Gerd's house via a route determined by Jim I. (El Guapo)
Nancy and Bill's son wanted all of us to go by Bill's house prior to the drive to Gerd's but according to Gerd that may not be possible due to the size of our group vs the area around Bill's house, so I think this needs to be discussed and a final decision made at this point...
I assume some of the gang will be in their speedsters, and some won't....

I'll pre-run a couple of routes for after the church services for either circumstance. 1st route will be from the church and a stop at Bill's house, and a 2nd route that goes from the church to Gerd's house.

Based on the replies for attendance at Bill's church service, there will be about 20 SOCers (with at least 10 cars). With the number of relatives and friends expected at Bill's small house and no parking, an additional 20-people + 10-cars would be logistically very difficult if not impossible.

In light of this, our only possibility may be for the SOCers to mingle with the relatives/friends after the services AT the church, then proceed to Gerd's house.

Ginny & I are not bringing the Speedster to the service.

I do not have El Diablo back yet, but might by the end of the week,
If I have it I will drive it....

Karen and I will be driving our other car. We will stay in Pasadena Friday night. If anyone else is doing the same, maybe we could get together.
