1957 Porsche Speedster
Super Wide Body Replica
"Black Betty"
1957 356 Speedster "Super Wide Body" replica built in 2008 by Vintage Speedsters.

All Speedsters turn heads, but this Speedster will make heads spin like Linda Blair in the Exorcist.
If you're looking for fun and excitement and you like the idea of "the wind in your hair," but think a motorcycle is too dangerous or, you already have a motorcycle, but your significant other is tired of riding on the back and you want something that is just as exciting, but more comfortable and WAY MORE CLASSY, then this car is for you!
More fun and much more comfortable than a motorcycle, costs about the same as a Harley. You can't fall off of it and there is

NO HELMET REQUIRED!!!

It has a beautiful, brand new, glossy black exterior with a black interior and top. It was factory built by Vintage Speedsters in December of 2008, so you know it was done right. This Speedster has only 5,152 miles and the exterior, interior, top and side curtains are all in excellent, like new condition. The custom, professionally polished 17 inch wheels, with their powder coated black centers, shine like a mirror and are simply spectacular. To keep your Speedster safe from the admirers, it has a professionally installed Auto Mate alarm system with two remote controls. The gold Porsche Carrera badges on the rear and dash and the Porsche emblem badge on the hood add the finishing touches that make this Speedster one of a kind.
This beautiful Speedster is built on a 1973 VW pan and is registered in California as a 1973 VW, with no smog certification requirements. When comparing this Speedster with Speedsters from other manufacturers, pay very close attention to the quality of the build. Check that the doors, hood and trunk all fit smoothly and are aligned properly, with no gaps. Pay close attention to the flared fenders, the Vintage Super Wide Body flares are not the same as other flared Speedsters.

The engine is a big 1915cc VW with dual Weber carbs. It starts every time with just a turn of the key, sounds great, pulls well and runs VERY strong.

The Speedster has:
Super wide body
(Vintage Speedster flared fenders are not the same as flared Speedsters from other vendors. Look closely.)
Black seats, door panels and dash trim
Black top with matching side curtains
Black carpet in both the interior and trunk
Momo steering wheel
Black Speedster embroidered mats
Sony AM/FM/CD player (Ipod ready) with removable face plate and remote control
Porsche Carrera badges rear and dash
Porsche emblem badge on hood
Front and rear Nerf bars
1915cc Type 1 VW engine
4 speed manual 3:88 "Freeway Flyer" transmission (perfect for those long cruises to the coast or the mountains)
Dual Weber carburetors
Electric fuel pump
Front disc brakes
Custom 17 inch polished wheels with powder coated black centers
Half tonneau cover
Full car cover

This Speedster is simply stunning and is a joy to drive. I have the Pink Slip and all you will need to do is buy the car and drive it.

Black Betty has found a new home in San Diego and it will be sad watching her go. She is such a sweet little ride, that I came very very close to keeping her.

Her new owners name is Ron and I will be sure he knows all about the SOC. I will be especially sure to warn him about keeping Black Betty away from Vince and the evil El Diablo.

Here is a photo of my 83 year old mom in Black Betty just before I took her for a ride down main street in Huntington Beach and then up PCH.

Black Betty before and after:

Hey Bob.
Nice talking to you. We got a late start on our trip to Tahoe and spent the night in Sonora. I left your phone number at home, so text it to, if you don't mind. It's 10:10am right now, so we will probably be passing through around 11:30 or so.

For everyone else. Thuan and I are on our way to Tahoe in my blue car with my new, rebuilt engine, which is now a 2054cc with a 310 cam and ported and polished heads and a bunch of other modifications. It's running great and the weather is beautiful. We are taking hwy 49 from Oakhurst to hwy 50 in Placerville and then up to Tahoe. I'll post some pics. later.

It's 8:30 and we are on our way to the buffet, but I saw a computer in the business center and decided to check in.

Just an incredible day for cruising Tahoe in the Speedy. Literally, not a cloud in the sky! Checked into the Horizon Hotel and then headed for Emerald Bay and took a bunch of pictures of the car with the Bay in the back ground. It's a VERY cool drive! At one point, you are about 1000 feet up on a 2 lane road with shear drop offs to the lake on both sides. I took it VERY slow there while Thuan took some video, but I haven't watched it yet. If it's any good I'll You Tube it.

Thanks for the offer Bob, but I think we will be returning via hiway 88 in to Jackson and then back down 49.
Troy
