Blank brake drum source?

I'm looking for a source for a set of blank brake drums....

I have also asked around about this .I been hoping someone would make a 2 peace type one rear drum kit. But to date Nothing!

I wanted to upgrade my beetle.

Try a company called Machine7, based in U.K. But I know they sell blanks

One choice is a 8x16 wheel that has a 6 x 5.5 pattern. ~Alan

Alan, since you are keeping this one, why not put discs on it?

I know discs are avail. front and rear as blanks.

I have tried a good number of sources and still can't locate blank or GM pre-drilled drums.
The webbing on the back side of the stock drums is thick enough to support drill and tapping but on the drum face where a stud or two may fall is just too thin to call it a safe bet.
Yes disc would be the answer but everything brake related cam as new on the project speedster .....any sources you know of ?

I just got drums from CIP1 that were drilled and tapped for Porsche 5 stud pattern. What about getting a set of these and then having them drilled and tapped for the pattern you want? Could then just plug up the holes you don't want.

If the drums are thick enough to support the studs for a Porsche wheel then they should be adequate for a GM wheel.

Is Chevy pattern same as GM?

I bought drums drilled with a Chevy patter about 16 years ago but the company is out of business. Sorry, no help.

I'd like to powder coat my new drums before putting them on. Anyone see any problems with that? (obviously just the outside of the drum)Would you powder coat the face of the drum where the wheel would bolt up to?
