Any ideas why my blinkers work when my headlights are off? When my headlights are on the blinkers do not work they just dim.

Faulty ground.....The almost universal cause....
Is this a new problem or have they always been that way ? Some history would be helpful to diagnose.
I just got the car Wen. I love it I think its a ground some where . There just hard to
trace down sometimes. Any ideas where to start?
Try the grounding leads from the head lights and signal light sockets..... The symptoms, as described, would indicate that the signal lamps are feeding back through the headlight circuits to ground and when the head lights are "on" thr voltage difference drops dramatically.... Your head light sockets maybe miswired.... Do the high and low beams have the required brightness, or is one much dimmer than needed???
I didn't notice the head lights being to dim but idid notice when I turn the blinker on
the little running light in the headlight faintly blinks also.
Bad ground on turn bulbs.....
I have a very similar issue but haven't found the culprit yet.
Try running a "new" ground wire, along with the original, from each signal light socket to a genuine chasis ground / contact point (metal to metal).... Make it at least 16ga. wire....
Ok thanks l'll give that a try and let you know how it works .
Thanks again Leon
