Blub in fog light switch

I bought one of those expensive fog light switches from Sierra Madre. It has a bulb that installs in the knob

for illumination when switched on. I can not figure out how is is suppose to work. The very small bulb fits into a slot track in the switch knob. It seems to be spring loaded but there is no slot to twist the bulb into to hold it in place. I put the bulb in the slot and installed the knob but it does not light up. Anyone else installed this illuminated switch? Of course there were no instructions and SM doesn't seem to have a clue.
