NOT MINE. Posted on ebay for $39,990 in Chicago. What caught my eye was the fugly BMW kidney grills in front. Then I read ad and it said it had a V6 - reading on it appears to be a Subbie flat H engine. Then there is the 1964 original VIN plate. They even managed to work in the original CMC supplied Anza exhaust!

Yeah that's a flat 6. I'm surprised it fits. I wonder if they had to add counter weights up front to keep the front wheels on the ground.
an H6 can fit in a Ghia ... it ways 50-75 lbs more than a 2.5L 4 cyl subie.
FYI, a 3.0 H6 subie can be only lik 2inches longer very minimal change in engine size and hence this version has been installed in VW and Ghia's and buses pretty often you get 235 hp with 6 cyl torque for 65 lbs more weight what is there not to like. You do have to deal with a used engine or rebuild it which might be more expensive than you want.

I knew I'd seen something similar (BMW grills) but even crazier for $55,000, 2.5l Subie turbo.

Yes, saw that grill work before. Interesting study in form follows function. Gotta cool all that water, and this is a good way to do it. And yes, it really does not quite look like a Speedster anymore. Some kind of Bimmer impostor. Funny how that works . . .

Ray, my dad had one, too. It was the family car through most of my formative years.
Manual steering. Ralph Kramden steering wheel. Unassisted drum brakes.
It was the original 'momentum' car - once it built up a head of steam, there wasn't much anyone could do to change its speed or direction.
I like the straight 8 version better than the kidney grilles.
I noticed the car also has an upside down shine up light in the back.
