Has anyone re-skined a Karmann with speedster sheet metal?

That would be an expensive use of unobtainium Speedster sheet metal. Isn't a plastic replica speedster the same?
How about a Boxster Ghia? Cheaper and faster - handles better too.

At least you wouldn't have to worry about a RMS failure.
What Stan said X2.
A lot of work for a Karmann. Not bad though.
Hey Jack,
I got my speedster from Hot Springs.
As the proud past owner of two Karmann Ghias (a coupe and a cabriolet), I am offended. What an abomination.
That front end is butt ugly.
It's as bad as a cross-eyed Morgan:

I have always liked the CMC 359 --- Porsche 959 replica. Not many made - longer wheel base than 356 replica so lots or room in engine bay for a VW T4 as is or a 6 cylinder Subbie. Most don't seem to find same appeal as I do. Near all are red for some reason --- now I'm not a red fan. They seem to go for 2/3 $ of a classic speedster replica. Love it or Hate it?
Hate the 359, always did!

Ask a little question and the weird and wonderful come out. I'm going to have to say that none of those pictures are my cup of tea
Yes, we are all weird and wonderful on this site.
Hey Bob, mom says you're the weird one and I'm the wonderful one.
I think it goes like this... everybody is wonderful at first then weird as time goes on.
