New to the site. Bought mine a year ago, it wasn't running, sat in a garage for 8-10 years and was cheap! It took all of 1 day to get it running and I love every minute of it! Found out it was a CMC and since they are no longer with us I wanted to know where I could/if I could get replacement parts for it. Will other manufacturers parts fit? I need things like dash pieces, door pieces, nothing major but I wonder how different all these cars are.

After CMC went chapter 11, they resurrected first as "Auto Resolutions Ltd" to cover their creditors (like me) and then the principals of CMC started a new company called "Street Beasts" - even run some of the same old photos in their new ads!

Anyway, Street Beasts should have just about all of the old CMC parts you may be looking for. Others on here (like Jerome Smith) have dealt with Street Beasts directly - I have not - and can give you more info. Apparently there is a lady at S.B. (Maria, I believe) who has been super-helpful in ordering and delivering needed parts.

I've gotten a lot of my body/trim parts from Kirk Duncan at Vintage Speedsters in Hawaiian Gardens, CA. Really nice guy and most of the parts, especially trim parts, are interchangeable.

Good luck!

Also, don't be afraid to ask for specific parts on the classified part of this site!

Dash pieces? About the only CMC parts there were the rubber eyebrow and dash trim. These can be made out of wood since they get covered with vinyl anyhow. The grab handle, builders badge and Speedster logo cna be gotten many places. VDO gauges are easy to come by and a boat supply store has the switches. Door pieces? On my CMC the door latches and striker were from VW --- only the exterior door handle is replica and an aluminum plate for latch. Do you have he build manual --- or did you down load from forum?
