OOOOOOOuch! Sorry to hear about your bonnet blues... Is it my impression that the hinges are some sort of sand casting(judging by their ,unique, finish?) and therefore sort of frail?

Alan, in your build experience have you ever tried to use actual 356 hood and (leave as is), (leave as is) hinges?

Dale Bates, oh, yoo-hoo, was that (leave as is), (leave as is) hinge apparatus your work or is that another reason IM sort of leaves some folks in the detail dust?

PS... Thank you Theron. I used speelcheck for the first time and it worked and exceeded my creative writing levels! Except the paranthetic (leave as is)... Uh, how I make 'em go away?
Paul, You must be talking of the hanging down part on the rear engine lid that the pneumatic deal that holds up the lid slides up and down in. ? It is not mine, nor Intermeccanicas, my friend, the "infamous Rich" came up with that so the pneumatic thingy would hold the engine lid up with the added weight of a luggage rack. It actually held the engine lid up with a 30 pound suitcase full of clothes on it. A 356 guy on the tour that saw it said that he doubted if the original mechanism would have held the suitcase that well.
