First off its costing me 1275 to get it here. :(

Second, I'm not sure who made the car. What are the telltale differences?

Pics here too:

It's titled as an 89 composite. NY title. I paid 8k, plus 1200 to get it from NY to Omaha, NE. It looks like i will like to do some new interior carpet etc and hood carpet, but the engine underbody etc looks great. It supposedly has 2300 miles since 89. I personally love the widebody look and the stance with these rims/tires make this car one of the best ive seen. aggressive stance wise.

Pretty much looks like my car. (CMC) The snaps on the dash look like they were installed pretty much by the book as are the defroster holes. I noticed five lug wheels. What size tires do you have. As long as the running gear is in order you pretty much got a decent deal.
Once you personalize and tweak things to your liking you'll find it a
blast to cruise around in!

I'm pretty happy with the car in its current config, its running really really rich, i can smell TONS of gas when i drive it. I LOVE the sound of the exhaust and the feel of the car. Its kinda tough to get into for my 6'1" frame but i manage. I might get one of those removable steering wheels.... LOL

Thanks, ill get more detailed pics tomorrow and post em.. so i know for SURE who made it.
gas was not running rich, leaky gas cap... but its still quick enough for now... but as i suspected i need more torque. I have a built 350 in my z71, and a 400hp 355 ready for my Camaro. (camaro still has 305 now, but 260 ft/lbs is more than this vw LOL) Im not going to be able to leave it stock for long. I might even sell my 355 and buy a nice new engine for the 356 now :). I cant beleive how cheap this stuff is... I spend 2000 on my vortec heads alone, and a couple thousand more on the 355 itself. for what I have in that it sounds like i could have a 200hp vw engine in th 356. Hmmmmm. 400hp 400 ftlbs in a 3600 lb car or 200hp in a 1400? lb car? tough one
Nic: While we're talking about gas fumes, check how the black vent hose
routes from the outlet below the gas gap. Mine was sort of in a straight line to the exit thru the fender. When I filled the tank, gas would slosh
out when turning right. I got a long piece and made a generous loop up
higher than back down to the exit hole to help remedy this.
