I went over to Sierra Madre Collection in Pasadena today. They had those H-4 LED lights reduced even more than the $199.00 sale price. It's a complete assembly less the bulb. ($6.00ea). They may be still at that price for a day or two more so if you're interested, call them ASAP.........Bruce

Caretech.....I'm new to the use of these LED bulbs and can't imagine what w 100 watt bulb would do ! Will the 55 watt bulbs be OK ?

On another subject....Those new gauges you posted about really got my attention. Especially about all the extra features that they have ! Are they readily available right now ?  Would you be willing to trade for .......say.... some of my new Sun Visors, Wing Windows, Foot Pegs, and Bronze Door Pulls ?

Also coming down the pipeline is a beautiful, practical "fender cover"!  This cover is installed over and around the rear of a Speedster to protect the paint and trim when we are working on our engine. It also will have two pockets to hold a few tools. For me, this is sorely needed because I never can find a place to set down some tools back there when they're not currently being used and inevitably some will fall into the engine compartment in the hard- to- get places!  I would be interested to know if you think this is a good/practical  concept ......Bruce

H4 Bulbs are normally around 55/60 they are halogen bulbs and they work fine.  Way better than sealed beams for sure.

I have halogen 80/100 now the new LED's are out but I have not tried them myself and there are issues with heat sinks, that is why some have hair like frills, of some sort of fan or naturally cooling heat sinks.  There is an LED suppler to the list who informed me that a normal sealed beam is beat by an LED and I cannot remember if the 55/60 are also beat but not the 80/100 Halogens. They produce more lumens than the LED's presently available. Someone can chime in if they know more but more Lumens are king but you have to remember that the oncoming driver needs you to have your lights properly aligned the brighter your lights get.  In the near future lazer lights in europe will come over the americas and they have sensors that will bend the light to oncoming drivers to save their eyes and be full blast at other times for you to see better. Just my 2¢ Ray

Gordon....This is crazy...I just cut out another...guess what....template ! Maybe this would better be called a pattern.  Anyway it's for that rear cowl cover.  Every time I work on my engine or anything back there I always get oil or grease or something on my paint. Then when I'm wiping it off I worry about scratching the paint. I drop tools and worry about chipping it....I'm sure you could add to this.  We'll see how this works

RAY....That's exactly what I'm looking for.....Almost !  My concept wouldn't use those straps and hooks down to the fender lips though. Also the pockets are in the wrong place. They would hit me in my knees. I was thinking to have them on both the right and left. The material would be vinyl on top and soft fleece under. The holding apparatus would be Masonite encapsulated in the vinyl on a fold-back. Maybe I could name it "Porsche 356 Ass apron" ??  Ha ha !  You know.....Bra then Apron ???...Bruce

Bruce I personally feel that while you could put pockets here and there to simply put down a tool for a moment I would not have a tool bag at all on the apron.  Simply a rolling cart nearby to keep things handy and close at hand. my2¢

I have been thinking of doing one myself. I have a commercial sewing machine and an expert seamstress at hand Ray
