Or I have seen Yellow and Green in the painters tape also.

The different colors represent different, degrees of "clean removal and paint retardation".

Natalie was stripped to bare fiberglass & repainted this winter.  She looks better than new.  I debated clear bras & spray on bras, but decided to go without.  I bought her to drive & enjoy.  I know that she is already developing patina, and that's okay.  It will only make her look more original.  I'd rather have road rash than self-induced bra damage.  I'm in the same camp as Danny (who also has had his car repainted, btw).

Mine also has plenty of road rash, but none of it is from those long interstate slogs to Carlisle.  When I travel in the Speedster, it has the bra on.  When I drive around town, it's bra-less.  Maybe I should reverse that since they never, ever seem to sweep the roads here and this is a container port, so every third vehicle is an 18-wheeler.  Over almost eight years of usage the bra has done no damage to the paint that I can see.

By the way, that "#-piece" should be "3-piece", if you hadn't already figured that out.

I am using a bra from Vintage Speedsters and for me it is just fine.  It goes on with Velcro and attaches securely without flapping and causes no scuffs of any kind.  It is lined with a soft material that protects the paint.

It doesn't cover the bumper like Lane's, but I don't seem to get much road rash there anyway and what little I do get is easily fixed with the Lanka touch up system I use.

I never use the bra around town but you can believe I need the protection on the 2,600 mile round trip to Carlisle!  Works for me and the price was very reasonable.  When I reach my destination it removes in a jiffy.

With some negative posts on this thread about not liking the bras I wanted to post another

viewpoint.  A 20 hour interstate highway road trip mixing it up with the big boys is going to damage a Speedster's nose paint without protection of some type.  Clear, vinyl or whatever.  Of course Garage queen cars or Sunday coffee drivers don't need to worry abour road rash but Road Warriers definitely do!

Doc Phil - As with anything else with these cars, it's a matter of personal preference (personal preference is why Baskin Robins has 31 flavors)! FWIW - as a 30-year member of PCA, I've used protective front bras on all my previous Porsches (three 356's, four 911's). They've all been from the bra originator & creator, Colgan. Points to consider;

1. Bra must be quality product and proper fit (no flapping or chafing) for optimum protection without damage to car.

2. Used primarily for interstate or highway driving (high speed and debris), and removed otherwise.

3. Never use when either car or bra is damp or wet.

Following these guidelines, I have never had issue with cars' finish!

That being said, I don't currently use one! I'm not bothered by the 'patina' accumulated by our daily driver VS logging 153,000Km (95,000 miles) all over the Western U.S!

Bra is a Colgan.  Fits very tight but not flush between lights.  I did not see any other Colgan options for my car except for with bumperettes or with license plate.  I don't need bumperettes or front license plate in Carlisle so I got the one without the extra holes.  I did not see a 3 piece Colgan option.

No one will see me with a bra.  I will be all natural the minute I arrive.

I'm with Jack on Vintage's bra for a Speedster.  Mine came with one and I used it occasionally.  It fit very well and looked, well, Ok.  The nicest one I have ever had was one on Sarah's Alfa Romeo Spyder.  It fit like a glove and was easy to put on and take off.  I remember being asked at Oshkosh if it was a "stealth bra" ....one that would block police radar.  I had never heard of such a thing.

The black bra's look like someone attacked the car with a giant roll of electrician's tape.  I suppose it helps prevent chips, but I never enjoyed looking down the hood of a car and seeing that in front of me.  The clear adhesive protection is worse; you can never fully enjoy the finish on the car.  Had that on one of my cars also; never again.  I would rather deal with the stone chips.  It's part of the deal in driving a Porsche!

Like Hoss said.  Think of your rock chips as "badges of distinction."

Troy, you are correct. Thinking back to our sailing race days, a wise ol guy told us about, small tears in the spinnaker, "character" marks.

Likely from Quebec tho' Danny and some don't call that Canada anymore. :-)  Now cast your eyes on that black object in the left top corner of the pic....looks like an asphalt / tar heater to me but could be used as a quasi Southern Style BBQ in the hills of La Belle Province by those wiley Rebels....uh huh !
