Wrenn-

My radar just went up. You said the F-250 was retired for "farm use only". Does your family farm?

I'm a total wannabe farmer. Grandpa had a small farm (160 acres, corn/beans) and was a seed corn salesman for Pioneer. I grew up across the hardroad from the farmstead, and benefited enormously from the experience.

Not any more.   Dad was not a farmer.  Construction welder, semi-trailer mechanic, OTR driver, equipment hauler/transport.  He still has the small farm. 150 acres- some acres in pines forested every 30 years & a local farmer "leasing" 40ish acres for hay.

Dad's grandfather was the farmer had built a water ram to get water up from natural spring to irrigation and sawmill..all of which is gone now.  Dad's step-father was a dairy farmer turned appliance repairman, so growing up I had space, tools, old equipment, barns for imaginary play and dirt roads for the go-kart.  I learned to drive sideways w/ throttle on oversteer long before getting behind the wheel on pavement.  Made me a reasonably good "snow" driver for a southern boy.  Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on perspective) the cars I had at age 15-20 didn't have enough power to produce the same effect (or were front wheel drive or both 🤦‍♂️).

Thinking about a Mercedes 240D, just to slow my life down...almost to a stop.

Bwaaaa, Bob!

I had a1985 MB 240D for commuting. Reliable as heck, but slower than molasses. You would need a calendar to time it's 0-60 time. :-)

One time I drove to USC Hospital, Los Angeles, to conduct a seminar on Neonatal Respiratory Management. When I parked my 240D on the street, it continued to 'diesel' after I turned off the ignition. I waited for 10 minutes for it to stop but it never did, so I just left it. I had no idea how much longer it continued to run. LOL. At the time I was unaware of the shut-off valve on the fuel line. :-)

@Robert M, not explicitly.  He has not said that there has been further mal-performance.  The last "fix" was the high-side fuel pressure sensor replacement.  I think its been running well since then.  There has been an overriding complication stemming from a death in the family -- his father-in-law passed away in Ohio and he's been traveling  (by airplane) to support his wife, who is the only child/relative at hand, so it is she who is trying to handle everything.  Funeral is tomorrow.  So I'm not pressing the issue, and he's been otherwise occupied. As anything develops subsequently on the "puzzle", watch this space for any further news.

Sorry to hear of his troubles at the moment. Definitely getting to the bottom of the car issues is low on the priority list at the moment. Prayers for the family and all.
