When I apply the brakes I hear a clicking noise that is not as loud when depressing the brake hard. Most noticeable when initially applying the brakes ,I can hear the clicking from the right rear side and the clicking slows down as the car does. I removed the brake drum and everything appears ok. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Often, the E-Brake cable becomes a little loose, bends a little more than it should inside of the brake drum and makes contact with something inside (a casting flange, things like that) which cause it to "click".

Try pulling up on the E-brake handle slightly while driving and see if it goes away. If it does, then adjust the Ebrake cables up at the handle end (they're independently adjustable) for a little less slack.

The other thing it might be is a drum out of round. Remove the drum and take it to an automotive machine shop that turns drums and have them true it up for you (should be about $10-15 bucks)
