OK, I have been bleeding brakes all day on my wifes speedster and it will not get any pressure on the pedal. Im almost 100% sure there is no more air in the system yet the pedal never built any pressure on it. What am i doing wrong or do VW's just not have any pressure on the pedal? Again there are no leaks, and if all the air is not out its almost all out. The car has front disk brakes with rear drum and im using a later model master cylinder. Any help with this would be great.

Thanks
Mike

Im bleeding brakes because i just put brake fluid in the system for the first time. This is a CMC kit that was never finished. I did replace the master cylinder just to be safe being the one that was on the car was at least 12 years old and never had fluid in it. I thought that the seals might have gone bad with no fluid on them. Anyhow, after running almost two quarts of fluid through the system i changed the new master cylinder for the old one and i now have brakes. So that brand new master cylinder that i just got was not any good and i wasted a whole day pumping that brake pedal just to find that out. The way i bleed the brakes, (1) top off the fluid resevore (2) put a hose on the right rear brakes bleed screw and put the hose down in a bottle of brake fluid. (3) pump the brake and hold it down then release the bleed screw with the hose on it and let the air out. Anyhow i do this untill all the air is out of each brake caliper. After i put the old master cylinder back on it only took 30 minutes working by my self to get the system pumped up good. Now its time to get the fuel system installed.

I had the same problem Mike and one of the guys here told me to start with the front brakes instead of the rear...I always thought that you started with the furthest?? It worked!! The other thing is to make sure that your calipers (if you have discs) are installed and have the bleeder screw at the top and not the bottom. These two changes worked on my car.
