I may take it. Who made it? I need to check with IM to make sure its fits. My car was set up to accept the rack but I never purcahsed one. Can you measure the the mounting holes for me?
Sure Marty. It fits over the back grille and it screws into the engine lid at the four corners of the grille. I will measure and let you know in a minute.
Width measured from outside of bolts = 7 7/8"
Length measure from outside of bolts = 12 7/8"

I just removed my luggage rack for the first time since I got my VS 5 years ago. I like the look without much better than with! Of course I'll put it back on for Carlisle so Alice can get an extra suitcase on there. Only takes 2 minutes to remove or put back on.

If you are looking for authenticity, the Reutter rack was used from early 1956 to early 1960. The Leitz rack wasn't used until April 1960.
