Pete, until you get an mph speedo there is an easy way to calculate speed. First, the ratio is 0.62mph/kph, which of course means 100 kph is 62 mph. Also, when in 4th gear you can take the tachometer reading and double it to get a very close approximation of your speed, so when the tach is reading 30 (3000 rpm) you're traveling 60 mph, 35 = 70 mph, 25 = 50 mph, and so on.

Welcome to Canada, Lane.
Being one who was raised on the Imperial system (inches, feet, yards, miles, ounces, pounds, etc.) I find myself doing the above conversion constantly, even when riding my bike.
Let Pete take it. I don't look at my speedometer anyway.

Me, too. I just look at my speedo and see, in my mind's eye, my old '57 Beetle and I just know from the angle of the needle that I'm doing 35 or 45 or 65 - the only speeds I needed to care about back then. Anything over 65 is current "Turnpike Speed" and all of those cars in my mirrors are waaaaaay behind me.
I've used the digital speed displays that the cops put up in town sometimes to remind you of your speed, to mark my speedo with a grease pencil at a couple of pertinent speeds, just in case.
I also have a grease mark on my temp gauge at 190.
I'll save up for a Speed Hut set of gauges.
I love mine, Carlos. Just hard to see the mileage/trip display due to the turn signal, I have my speedo on the left, as original Spyders did AFAIK.

After fixing my speedo, I did a 10 mile check using the mile markers by the highway. It was pretty accurate. Since, I've become very good at my 6X tables.
100kph =~ 60mph, so 10 mph=6mph, hence 50kph = 30mph, 80kph = 48mph, etc. it's become almost second nature.
Same here. Given the quality of the Chinese replacements I decided to live with it.
You can also use the Waze app on your phone which shows MPH. I have the GPS gauge from Carey and it is spot on.
sold! Thanks for looking.
I found that with the WAZE on the phone the next time I loaded photos from the phone to my PC I have hundreds is traffic icons as individual photos that was fun .
