Everytime $#@!*&^ I hit return after typing in the subject line it sends the post. Oooops.
I noticed on some of the pictures of Henry, Jims, Bill Steeles and Dale (and others) trip to knotts that a couple of the cars had bras. Since it looks like I will be driving to Carlisle, I was wondering where to get a bra that will fit good, as I have the bumper guards on the Speedster, not overrider bars, just bumper guards.
Maybe even Hoss will want to put a Bra on for the Trip to Carlisle afetr his Knotts trip and a bit of front end road rash.
Suggestions???

Robert,
If you want to put a bra on the front of the car, go with a COLGAN. They fit well and you can order them semi customized for bumper guards, license plate opening, etc. When I use a bra, it's a Colgan. Available from the new tweeks.

Speaking of Colgan Bras, I have one to sell from a 1982 911 SC. This is a near new part and it perfect condition. $35 plus shipping.

Hey, Dale.
I had a Colgan on my car. I couldn't get the mfg'r to cut holes for the fogs, but had to have John Steele's upholstrey guy, Alfredo customize it for me.
My new build will have the low US market overriders. Do you know of anyone who has a bra with overriders?

Is Tweeks also known as Mid America Motorworks? I have a catalogue from them somwhwere. Otherwise I guess I can go online to find a Colgan bra.
Yes, they are now one and the same. They have a nice catalog which arrives all too frequently once you buy from them.

Mike,
Henry's er Dan Palquist's IM roadster has overiders and was wearing a bra on the trip south. It fit well and did a great job protecting the finish. I am not sure where Henry or the previous owner purchased the bra but Mid America should be able ot source it. Or check the Colgan factory.

You shoudl probably call Henry and get his thoughts.

Henry's upholsterer or your local shop can modify the Colgan for bumper gaurds, fogs, etc. I bought my Colgan through Henry at IM. It is the same Colgan that he used on Dan's Roadster.

I was on the Colgan website and they had many model choices..what would be correct for 58 Speedster, 356 or 356 A? It also had a option for bumper guards and license plate opening and I think they may have had an option for over riders as well. Unfortunately they did not say how long it takes, but I need one before Carlisle. I may do a quick search on ebay.

Okay - more questions. I went to the Tweeks sight and they sell the Colgan bras for $10.00 less than Colgan and stock some of the product it appears. However, they offer a Colgan mask-bra, with license plate and bumper guard and overrider options, for a 356A, and they also have a Colgan "mask" with license plate and bumper guard options. These are shown as two very different products (no pictures), The Colgan website does not indicate different choices for 356As, meaning a mask-bra, or just a mask?
Does anyone know the difference between a mak bra and a mask? Has anyone recently ordered a Colgan bra, if so what was the part number at Tweeks/MAMW, I know that the BG or LP change things slightly. I want one pretty much like Jim and Henry had on the trip to Knotts pictures.
Help! I was looking for a one piece Colgan bra (or mask?) with BG openings, I can live with or with the license plate opening, but prefer w/o LP opening. If anyone has recently bought one of these let me know what you ordered and if it worked out, or if you know what the difference beween mask and mask bras are.

Bruce Williams can probably tell you what the part number is for the Colgan with B/G and NO L/P holes. I sold him mine that fit this specification when I sold my Vintage. I sent him the original box and I believe the part number is on the box or bra itself. Bruce, are you out there anywhere? I ordered direct from Colgan.
Hi Dan,
I'm here. Yes, the label is still in place. It reads as such:
PR 6.1 Porsche, 356A 1955-59

Thanks for the information guys. Since I need the bra before Carlisle, I may have to go to Colgan direct. The part number will really help.
I'm still not sure why I have to pay Colgan more $ direct than MidAmerica Motorworks (the middleman) charges, but oh well...

Ask Colgan that question and see if they will reduce the price...
What the heck! Maybe you can get it for what they charge Mid-America!
Tell them you're a member of the Internationally recognized Speedster Owners Group on the Internet and will tell everyone you just bought a Colgan and maybe more members might get one too. Remember - 450+ registered Speedsters on here.......
