Thanks Nolan! For what i've been reading on the CNC manual I think your information is exact. But the problem is that here in Buenos aires is very hard to find that model or if you do the prices are far from the 1952/1962. Example VW beetle 1951 (regular condition)US$ 1200, VW 1969(same condition) US$ regular contion)US$ 3000. So the big question is: Is it worthless to pay extra US$ 1500 for my first self-buil speedster or the difference significant betwen both I also read the 1969 and earlier needs much more chassis reforms than a 1952/65 and many of the VW donor parts aren`t usufull for this earlier model.
Thanks again for you usefull comments.
Original speedsters were swing-axle. With the addition of a camber compensator (on the rear), a swing-axle car becomes a decent driver. Some caution is needed through curves, in terms of not lifting off the gas suddenly. A lot of European competitors have modified swing-axle VWs to handle quite well.

A swing-axle car just needs to be driven a little more competently and actively.
If you have to pay between $1500-3000 for just a chassis then go with a custom made tubular chassis. You don't need to stay with air cooled engine either. Aren't a whole of parts ya really need off the bug - gas tank (but there are cheap aftermarket ones available) and steering column (but others readily work). In US, if lucky, you can pick up a rusted out bug for $300 with trans and rebuildable engine (I got one car free and another for $75 several years ago).
Wolf! US$1500-3000 is for a hole car, just a chasis would be next to U$S 90 but the question is: based on that this is my 1st self-build car, im not a mecanick, money dosen't grow from trees and on the fact that for sure it won`t be perfect.(may if some day I get to buid a 3rd or a 4th one, spending real money will be justify)What car should I buy?
Thanks you all.
