I know "kit car" and "accurate speedometer" may not be a realistic expectation, but I found out just how far off my Brazilian VDO Speedo was today.
The speed radar digital read-out van showed me going 42 mph today while my speedometer read 50 mph. I've often felt that when my speedo said 80 mph on the freeway - and I was getting passed by lots of cars - that I wasn't really going that fast, and apparently I wasn't.
It's no big deal, since mine's reading faster rather than slower, but you might want to check your replica's speedometer to see how accurate it is (or isn't).

This is my signature.

I know I have had doubts about my speedo and its accuracy. Those of us coming down I-5 for Knotts have a couple of semi permanant speed readout signs. They were there every time I've headed south toward Redding. If memory serves me right they are in the curvy section just before you come to Lake Shasta. If they are still there in April I'll check mine out. I doubt if I was going 115 thru there last time, just kidding! Bruce
