First, happy Labor Day all. WTF did the summer go???

Anyway, after a divorce induced hiatus I'm back at it so I'll apologize for stupid questions in advance. BUT, it is SOOOO sweet to get back to the car on a warm day with a beer in hand -screw the lawn!

Looking at where I mounted the breather up high on the fire wall I don't like what I did. Can't get to it to open it, the hoses are rubbing on the lid when it closes, so I'm thinking the shroud? I have some decent aluminum sheet left I can make a bracket that bolts onto the old coil mounts?

Thanks!!!!

The breather box can be mounted level with the top of the shroud centered between the deck lid hinges with the box top up for easy removal, the hoses are ran between the shroud and the bulkhead.

Agree, nut certs, self tapping hardware etc will just rattle loos,  the only way  I would mount anything to the shroud is with the shroud removed use pass through bolts with Nyloc nuts or Loc Tite.

I have the CB breather box and it's almost OK.  Looks and works great, but there is a custom-formed gasket for the cover that will leak after a while.  I trashed their gasket and just shoot my own with black RTV - seems to work fine for 2-3 years and then needs replacing - about the same interval as the official CB gaskets (which are the same stuff shot into a mold for $7 bucks).  I use a neoprene O-ring on the breather-to-alt-tower connection with good results.

You'll also need the special "Gland Nut Tool" from CB to get it on there:
