breather box question

im installing a bugpack breather box. it has 1 outlet on each side. these side outlets each go to a valve cover. it has an outlet on the bottom, does it get plugged or go to a drain hose out the bottom of motor.
the oil fill tower has a hose going to the right weber.

I run hoses out the bottom of the breather box to the L and R sides the valve covers. These are lower than the ones to the air filters. On the face of the box run a hose to each air filter. On the sides I mount two small breather elements for ambient air. ~Alan

I've duplicated Alan's setup, only without the fancy braided hoses (showoff! ;-).

Isnt the crankcase vent (on oil filler tower) supposed to go to the breather unit too ??

A stock beetle configuration then that's the only vent.
There are two vents off the valve covers for case venting on this set up.

I vented left and right valve covers to sides of breather box. Oil filler tube to front of breather box. Ran hose from top of breather box to one carb. Drill additional breather box holes as needed. Just clean out the excess oil periodically, usually more discoloration than liquid. No issues.

If you engine is build for revs and you like to take advantage of that, get rid of the foam in the breather box and substitute a pair of stainless steel pot scrubbers. They will act as an oil trap. The foam can become oil saturated & engine will not breathe.
