Decided to squeeze in the 185's instead of the 165's for performance and looks. Started looking at tires and like the appearance and details on these. Anyone else running them of have a better buy?? These are $80 at Walmart. Only a 40,000 mile tire but they would dryrot before they needed replacing. Also, aren't tires with a softer compound stickier?

I had those on an Acura several years back and loved them. I was under the impression that they had not been manufactured for several years, having been replaced with the 970s a couple of years ago.
How about these--great rating

I'm running the Pole Positions in a 185/65-15 and think that they're the best tire I've used, bar none, but have been told they're no longer available in that size, anywhere. I'm dreading the day that mine are worn out.
You actually found them at Walmart?
I checked TireRack and they are still selling them, although not in the size I need for my BMW.
I also have these on my IM. I like them-they're a decent handling tire. I thought they stopped making them in a 185/65-15 size.
Edit: couldn't find them on Tire Rack's website and Walmart.com doesn't show any Bridgestone tires.
On the TireRack site select brands and then Bridgestone. They're still listed.
I must be an internet dunce, because I can't find a 185/65-15 RE960AS Pole Position tire on Tire Rack's website.
Lane, can you give me a link?
Here's the problem - they're only available in 235/35R19 or 285/30R20. The link for the 960 is http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...E960AS+Pole+Position.
The 970 (the 960's successor) is available in quite a few sizes, but he smallest from TireRack is 205/55R16. See http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...E970AS+Pole+Position.
On both pages you can click on "Sizes" to see what I mean.
Just ordered these 185/65R15 General Altimax HP for $56 each from Tire Rack. Looks like a great tire for grip and noise level. Thanks for jumping in guys.
I have had two different side walls blown out by hitting a small bump or rock at medium to slow speed. Not this size, but on my 2007 GTI. Makes me wonder about them. That and they are not all that quiet after a few thousand miles. My 2 cents.
regards the Generals above.
