I jacked my vs up to investigate a small trans axle drip and found that the forward mount had a stripped bolt and the nut was just hanging on by a thread. The other bolt has a ground strap from the trans to the pan and I was able to tighten that one but the other is toast. I'm not sure how the thing comes apart and if I can just replace the bolt. The back of the bolt or stud is in some kind of rubber thing and I wonder if I can just replace it or drive it out or whatever. Where are the parts available and are they a PIA to replace or is there some trick easy way to get back in the game? I was planning to take it to Limerock next week and I'm bummin'.  Also, my camera crapped out and so did my oven...I think Mercury is in retrograde....but if I can get the car going that's a start.  Thanks for any ideas.

Thanks Mango.  It's a swing and I don't know the tranny code.  It looks to me like it has to be slid back at least an inch or two to get the mount out. The bolt from the mount only extends through the trans about 1/2 " or the thickness of a nut and washer. I was hoping I could remove the stripped bolt and just replace it but it looks like its all one piece with the rubber mount. I think I'm screwed .  I can't believe they were not lock washers and more substantial bolts !

Is it possible to "slide" the tranny back to replace the mount without removing the engine and all that other stuff?
