It's funny reading the comments about the similarities and differences in original vs. replica. When Dave and Cynthia were leaving I was telling him about some of the issues I was having with my car and he was very quick to mention how he felt my replica was a "better" car. He was telling me all the tales of his various 356's and their performance tendencies. How the bodies sag, the lack of power in some of the engines, etc... He knows our cars are much more fun to drive. He is not one of those "P" guys that snub replicas. A great guy to talk to about cars (he has, and has had, many vintage cars the likes of an orignal RSK, Lotus 7's, Lotus Elite, 356 Coupes, 550, the list goes on) he also has a great appreciation for food and wine so between our mutual interests we've developed a nice friendship. As the story goes, about 20 yrs ago he steered me in the direction of a replica instead of an original for various reasons. He now jokes with me that I should have talked him into selling me his old 59 because it would be worth 10 times by now.
