Bloody Knuckles

Never thought I would be seeking assistance in replacing a bulb but more than firm pulling and twisting did not result in removing the bulb / receptacle in my IM speedometer.

Any secrets on getting the black plastic holder out of the back of the unit? Many thanks - Michael

That looks like a later 911-style holder. What happens if you try pulling just the metal piece at the rear of the black holder? I suspect that it is a metal cylinder which slides inside of the black plastic part and the metal piece holds the bulb.

Yeah, I've screwed up so much stuff on VW's and Porsches that some of the good stuff has to rub off once in a (great) while......
