Had an unusual knocking noise while cold recently, went away when warmed up.
I had convinced myself it was just a flapping fan belt but while browsing another forum, someone posted a vid with exactly the same noise......investigation suggested loose head. I checked accessible studs, and...........yep, loose. so thats why I have this.......
While its out, I'm taking the chance to spruce things up and get the tins powdercoated....Every cloud etc....

It makes pulling the engine sooooo much easier ! (It has a safety lockout but I also made up some tall axlestands for added security !)

As is common these days they probably get made in China......In the UK they retail around 500 pounds for the adjustable width version I have.
In the past I always struggled to get the car high enough (safely) and ended up with fully extended axle stands and various blocks of wood, then, it was a long way down to lower the motor to the floor. With this, I can crank it up high to get under for the disassembly, then lower the car back down, whack the jack under pull the motor back and lift the body away again.
Much safer and easier on me
