Hello all,
These guards came with my JPS Coupe and I have decided not to run them. They are Driver quality with two of the guards having some pretty good scratching on the bottoms. Since they are aluminum, there is some work that could be done but frankly, when they are mounted on the car they are not noticeable. The other two are in good shape. They all could be polished up to look very nice. Thanks for looking.

Hope I didn't raise expectation on perceived value - I bet they are out of stock at vintagespeedsterparts so hence the astonishing price. New they are only $50.25 for a pair at Vintage Speedster in AZ.

I looked at Stoddard and Sierra Madre before I listed these. I figured mine were worth half their price accordingly. I will have to give Vintage a call on Monday for a reality check. Maybe these guards are better used as bookends...
They have always been at least a $200 option at VS and JPS so I'm betting that $50 price is for 1 piece.
OK, Erin at Vintage Speedster in AZ said since buying their business, they have not had time to correct errors on their parts pricing. Their guards are $150/ pr -$300/set. With that new low benchmark, I believe mine are still worth at least half, but I will take $120 for all four so I can move along.

I purchased a set of bumper guards from Vintage Speedster in AZ earlier this year. The quality wasn’t great; they were rather thick, with a few pits in each one. The mounting bolts were slightly askew and held in place with what looked like JB weld. They looked to me like they were poorly cast aluminum with a mediocre attempt at polishing. But you get what you pay for.
I went with them because they were my cheapest option knowing that I was taking them to the chrome shop no matter where I got them. Having each chromed at $75 apiece made them look fantastic but basically doubled the per piece cost.
Long story short: I went the cheaper route knowing I was going to add to the final cost in the end. Looking back I’d almost rather have a more period correct set...with the (gasp!) “towel racks”!
Since then I have made one more purchase through Vintage Speedster. That was a complete nightmare! I may be a single customer who isn’t happy, but I’d recommend paying for quality if you are shopping for parts. Suffice it to say I highly doubt I will be buying from them again.
Had the ones in this thread been available when I was shopping I would have jumped at the chance at that price! After all, we all know everything for these cars needs a little “massaging” to get it right. And my Chrome Guy always smiles when I drop off a box full of bits and pieces!

Yes. I have been going to New Age for years. I’ve always been very please with the work.
I have a few powder coat places as well. It just depends on how big the project is when I pick the place to go.
