I had these bumper guards for over a year now. Been wanting to put them on, but I guess the spirit never moved me.
This weekend I felt it was time. @ericthered came by and helped. The great thing about bumper guards is if you don’t like them, I assume you just replace the rubber deco molding. I was fortunate to use the existing holes in the bumper (just removed the one stud holding the bumper to the support in each side).
I like the look.
I think the longest part was running to ACE Hardware for new nuts, fender washers and washers.
While the bumper was apart, we decided to add small washers on the back of all deco strip studs, so it just wasn’t the area of the nut holding it tight against the fiberglass bumper.

As an aside; Eric, being the funny guy he is, told people I was looking for the radiator on the car.
Still looking for the radiator on that car huh!! Hahaha!
Looks excellent 👍
Nicely done.
Very nice and that green is really growing on me
Kevin, those bumper guards add a nice detail to the front of your car. Good job! @Kevin - Bay Area
@IaM-Ray thank you; as they say, “it’s not easy being green”.
In all honesty, I prefer speedsters without the bumper guards. Heck, I prefer speedsters without bumpers. That said, I feel this particular color of green doesn’t lend itself to not having bumpers (or hubcaps at that). Ordinarily, I would have left the bumper guards off. But, the hood straps already “ruined” the clean lines. I guess I could remove the straps, fill the 12 holes and Re spray, but that just seems a bit too intense. So I felt I needed to embrace the hood straps. Given the hood straps break the clean lines, it seems the bumper guards only helped.
I had bought the bumper guards for the rear, but elected not to install them. I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. I’m sure I committed a Porsche crime by only installing them on the front, but I really don’t care. It’s my car, right? The fact is, I love the cleanliness of the design on the back of our cars, and didn’t want to distract that purity with the guards.
....so in essence, I have a bit of a Speedster mullet. Business up front, party in the back.
Ditto on the green. Don't think I ever saw that color. Very sweet. And the guards just finish it off.
You committed no P crime, Kevin; it's your car and your vision.
No one will be able to see the front and back at the same time.
I bet a Starbucks that it'll take years for anyone to notice the difference.

Now THAT"S FUNNY!
Great job on the guards!
I’ve never considered buying a green car, but every time I see a nicely done one, I fall in love. Beauteous 👍
