Stefan:
The inner front bumper mounts are (at least on a CMC or VS chassis) mounted to the front torsion tubes and are about 50 cm long. Once those are installed, there is an outer mount that attaches to the front of the inner mount and then goes through the body and attaches to the bumper. If you have a front anti-sway bar, then it will interfere with the inner bumper mount, so we all just modify the mount to put a step in it to avoid the sway bar.
At the rear, there are inner mounts that attach to the rear of the frame and hang down about 20 cm. The outer mounts then attach to those and go through the body to attach to the bumper.
There is a CMC build manual in the library on this site (one of the tabs in the banner up above) but I'm not sure if you can see it if you are not a "donating member". If you can't see it, email me at speedstahguy at gmail dot com and I will scan the pages of my manual and send them to you.

Here's a link to a free version of the Fiberfab Build manual (FiberFab is same as CMC) . It shows the parts list of the steel bumper brackets as well as how they are mounted to the chassis. As Gordon said the H beam in the front using 4 large U clamps and the rear 2"x 2" (?) chassis cross piece. In the manual see page V-7 figure 5 and V-8 figure 6 for assembly and IX-V 6 and 7 for parts list.

Below is photo of the "modified for sway bar" front piece that goes on the H beam. The cut out goes to bottom to clear sway bar. All the pieces are roughly made from welded stock angle iron and 1" square tubing.
Your rear plate will have to move up above the light. Did you check to see if any of the bumper bracket pieces are mounted? If lucky you'd only need the T shaped actual bumper bracket. Scary cutting the slots in body for the T brackets. I used a VW rubber bumper gasket to finish off the slot. Yellow doesn't look bad on a wide body. Do like the wide steel wheels.
Stefan: wrap mounts are a good idea, and the 356 fiberglass bumpers (if you use them) only weigh about 2-3 kilos, depending on if they have trim or not.
I like the yellow, too (it pops).......But would love to see it in brown. Not a lot of brown Speedsters out there......
Hey there. Your speedster looks just like mine. If you are interested I can send you the file for the brackets and GT-40 nerfs I made.
Take a look under my pictures folder and you will see them.
