Looking underneath my CMC Flareside I have noticed that there is absolutely no bumper support structure. I have looked at the CMC manuals support brackets primarly the front and they are very lame. My plans are to install the calif. style nerf bars. I am looking for any suggestions or pictures to help me out. I am also looking for someone that has the rear mounting bracket. I am try to get a template of the bracket so I can fab them up.
Another issue regarding the bumper structure is supporting the front nose of the body. There is some flex in the fiberglass front end that appears to be the cause of some of the gelcoat stress cracks. Has anyone secured the front end to the bumper structure to prevent the flex? I don't want to put on a $3000 paint job if the gelcoat is going to crack.

Thanks,
Joe S.

Joe: What is the location of the stress cracks on your car? I have some as well but was told this was due to rough handling during construction. I used the kit bumper mount brackets to mount J-bars. I agree they are sort of lame, but they do seem suprisingly rigid. I know I have extra front mounts, I'll check the spare parts box for the rear mounts.
