I'm sure glad it's on the Left Coast. It scares me.

Damn, Paul, Sorry Butch has to go. Is there a "Save Butch" fund we could contribute to, or is this Transporter-incident related?

No incidents, no accidents, no more arrests. I've had to make some pretty hard life-decisions since 'the incident' and one of those decisions was to take a couple of years off from work and 'get my head right'

Well, my head is about as good as it's ever been, maybe better and there's no more room for Butch. Price has been reduced substantially. Value factor has gone way up as a result.

If I was considering a speedster replica and didn't want the 'Butch' stigma, the new price could easily allow the new owner to paint the fucker pink if he/she/it wanted.

Someone out there buy the car and roll up a ton of miles for me.

I'm also contemplating selling the 911. It's also a great car but it needs $1400 worth of replacement doo-hickies in the convertible top mechanism.
1989 Cabriolet. Black on black. 3 piece HRE/Fuchs 8" fronts, 10" rears. Clear coat is beginning to fail on the passenger side fender. 160K miles. Just had a major tune, etc, brakes are good for a few more years.

Maybe a bunch of us should pitch in and buy Butch. We could keep it here in sunny Charleston, and you guys could come visit and drive it - sorta like a timeshare condo. Of course I'd store it and drive it perdiodically to make sure everything was in working order.

the car is really the stuff that dreams are made of....a true piece of speedster folklore. I am waiting for the book to come out on "butch" or at least the Reader's Digest version. You know I will own the DVD.....and to think it would only cost hmmmm $$$$$$

I could see me in this ride with a 12 step...I mean a 12 DMV point system racked up by Happy Hour on the first day of ownership...I keep humming "Go Speed Racer, Go Speed Racer, ....GO' OOOO :)

Who ever steps up and assumes ownership, is going to be one pleased camper.

It looks like I just sold my Superformance Cobra, the only thing that was standing between me and a speedster. This looks right up my alley as I would probably be disappointed going from a 600HP cobra to a 1600 engine in one of these.

Is the asking price a secret? I have looked for it but can't find it. I realize there is an ebay auction on it, but is there an asking price outside of that arena?

Waxhaw is really South Charlotte. I can see the county line behind the house across the street, but for post office reasons they call us Waxhaw which is 20 minutes south of hear. I live in the golf course area of south charlotte in a little servants quarters type house surrounded by golfers driving cars I can't afford... but I have never seen any of them in a speedster. So now its my time.. they can be jealous of me for once.. lol.

There is a growing Speedster community in the SC/NC/GA/TN area, and we are hoping to have a fall gathering up in the mountains. If you get a car (Butch, Butch, Butch...) keep in touch. Heck, keep in touch anyway.

home this morning going to a new one in Portland. I am sure Paul could give you a good Idea of what he wants. I know from personal encounters with Butch that it is indeed one super fast machine. Hope you buy it cause it needs someone that knows and appreciates HP and Torque.

I did that to Scott. I'll drop you guys an e mail off line. Bill Helzer is the buyer and a car guy, has a Miata and a Boxster, plus, (drum roll), a 63 Studebaker R-2 Avanti,(supercharged) I had one also and showed Bill a picture of it before he drove off. Small world indeed.

Although it's a shame that you sold your pride & joy, I'm glad that it all worked out for you - and obviously for the new owner!

Golf course rules may let 4 cylinder vehicles on the course, just throw the clubs in Butch and get on with the game... but rake your traps and fill your doughnutzzz, er divots!

Fearing over-exposure I'm going to leave Butch off of eBay for awhile. He is still for sale and as some of you may have seen I reduced my asking price substantially. I will entertain reasonable offers from SOC members.
