Profile says Georgia in Leon's neck of the woods.  WTTM & the Beck branch of the Speedster family tree.  That's the way to do it.  Instant gratification!

I live in Ellijay, GA up in the mountains of north Georgia, 1.5 hours north of Atlanta. The car in the mountains is goin to be something to experience!

Actually no. Among other things, I happen to be an economist. In that capacity I write extensively within the "economic blogosphere". Believe it or not, it is a rough place where anonaminity is the norm by necessity. I used my blog handle reflexively. I now realize the mistake and will correct that ASAP. It is obvious I'm dealing with gentlemen here.

You made a wise choice choosing Kevin and Carey. Enjoy! Now the usual message, come to Carlisle to become indoctrinated into the madness. Can't make that, come to Corn Daze Trois in Peoria in June.

In fact, I just turned it around in the garage and will be doing a major going-through in the next 45+ days to get ready for this season (and a lot more to come!)

 

Just waiting for the garage internal temp to get above 50F.

Indeed, I did see your car! Damn beautiful it is! I was amazed how many cars were there either getting work or being stored for the winter. I saw this amazing all white Speedster. White leather interior, white carpet, and engine whited out! It will make an amazing museum piece, but a real bitch to to drive.

When in Bremen a couple weeks back I saw your car, Rich. My fiancé picked it out of the whole group as her fave. Was that "Natalie" in the paint shop, Tom?

Welcome to the club.  If you can steer a MD90, you'll love your Speedster.

I have been on a lot of terrify rides in my life, but nothing matches those MD 90's.  In sailboat terms we called those things "oil cans" for their propensity to flex.

In politically correct terms, I got the $##% scared out of me, going into DFW in a massive storm. ( Although AA not Delta).

14 years driving the Mad Dog! It is a beast, quite unrefined. Yet, a reliable workhorse. Alas, I will be saying goodbye next year. Off to fly the Airbus 319/320/321. Just a bit more sophisticated.

For 20 years, I have been reading about Carlisle. As a youngster I wanted a Cobra. A few more laps around the sun and I wanted a 550 Spyder. Then I grew up and started admiring the 356 Speedster, a car I always thought was cool. I would love to go and see all the wonderful cars.

Ron, look for details within the"Events" section. You'll even find videos there of past gatherings. It appears all the 50 rooms (or whatever the count was) at the Marriott are booked...I'm sure you'll figure it out if you want to be there. Rooms get scarce.

Yes, I tried the Marriott and in fact it is booked. However, I am going to be able to get a room at another hotel. Wife has been tasked with getting reservations and she is psyched that we are going to be there.

 

I would love to join up with any caravan coming from the south.

 

I think car should be delivered sometime in April.

Ron, follow Bruce's lead above regarding the caravans. I'll be coming from a whole different direction. The Marriott is aways away (maybe 10-15 miles) from the show grounds, but is used as pretty much the launch area for most activities. I'm somewhat of a newbie, only attended twice. There are other more local guys that can get you more pertinent info.
