Engine & transmission are finally making love. Pics here.
That's great news, Marty. Hope you are driving it soon.
looking good....
Beautiful stuff as usual, Marty...congrats. The clutch disc looks quite familiar to me though. Where's that from ?
Definitely NOT your 1950's-looking engine.
Henry and his "elves" do very nice work....
Serious engine p0rn, Marty.
Marty---simply awesome--congrats. When do you get your car back?
I'm glad that you will get some use out of it this year!
I might have missed it, Marty, but talk about the seat slider. Is it height adjustable?
Hey Marty I just checked, it looks like the power train is in the car!!!!
Marty, Nice cradle, I would think that anything that is working on a million other cars, i.e. subaru cars, should work without the fear of premature breakdown on yours Ray
I really wanted to incorporate the stock engine mounts on Bridget, but there was nothing to bolt them to and they'd have interfered with the exhaust. The above system looks much, much stronger. Of course it's gotta be.
Perfect! Gonna be sensational.
Looks like it belongs in there:-)
IM is fitting the oil cooler & the rad for the water to air intercooler. Don't know why pic is so small click here for latest pics.
are you putting back the engine cover with the IM crest on that turbo?
Ray, I am not sure yet. I have to see it on first.
Marty
Looks great, for a such a little engine...
Hey thats not nice to make fun of my little motor. I hope 260plus HP is enough this time.
A Hellcat engine in a speedster might be too much horsepower, but I doubt it.
I am surprised there is no whale tail going on that car with the little motor
....and with a whale tail Henry could have mounted the intercooler in the tail for maximum airflow.
I think Marty missed a golden opportunity to improve cooling for his turbo upgrade and improve the looks of his car immensely....like really immensely.
See how good a whale tail looks on a Beetle.
I love the way Henry installed the muffler and tailpipe. I wish I had that much room behind the rear apron.
Looks great, Marty. I do envy the room that 'little' motor gives for the exhaust system.
I know the flat six going in mine doesn't give Henry much to work with in terms of building an exhaust, and we have discussed at least one option that might be interesting but we will see.
I am really glad you are getting the horsepower you wanted, and your car should move along quite nicely, as they say.
I could fit a picnic basket in my engine compartment. 200+ hp takes up a lot of room.
And if you do it right, you can cook the chicken while on the way to the picnic.
Bob, you don't need mufflers. A Porsche flat six with straight pipes would sound awesome.
Music to your ears.
Not so much for your wife and the local police force.
Nice side pipe.
