I agree with the others, Marty.  I would rather see the engine than the plastic cover that just hides it.  I thought Tom Rahn's Raby/Subi engine was spectacular---maybe the best looking engine I've seen.  See if you can find a picture of his engine if you haven't seen it.  Screams "brute power".

Your car is outta sight---I too like the green LEDs in the instruments---very upscale and special appearance.

What a Speedster!

Marty, look what you've stirred up here.

Something there is that doesn't love an engine cover.

Maybe it reminds car guys that there was a time, before engine covers, when makers were proud of how their engines looked. When valve covers were handsome castings that boasted the company name.

Maybe it reminds car guys that there was a time, before engine covers, when engines needed us.

Before the engineers figured everything out for us. Before the microprocessors were put in charge. Before the 100,000-mile tuneup. Before the lawyers decided that engines were too dangerous for us to be worrying our pretty little heads about.

Before, everywhere, there were threatening little yellow stickers like this:

EngineCovers

Is the engine cover there to protect the engine from dust and dirt, or from the driver's hand and exposure to legal liability?

Before I'd have one, I'd want to know what it was covering up or keeping out.

Shipping by road transport is always a risky option. Best is to contact a friendly Driver with lots of road experience and have the car carefully driven direct to your location.....
