Marty, now that your car has left the maker, you didn't mention to us if you asked Herny for the parachute braking option for the 1/4mile runs ... Ray
"Herny"? Sounds like a medical condition.
Herny, I had one of those, a real pain in the arse. Wait that was a hernyroid, sorry.
I had a couple of hernyas, but got them operated on, and I'm much better now...
Sorry, Ray, all in fun. It can be a tough crowd here.
I had a good chuckle. lol .. thanks y'all .... best southern text I could find. Ray
A little birdie said that I should just fly out and drive it home. We also have an event in Michigan on 10-11 that I am nervous we may need to cancel. The better half is also giving me lot of grief. The madness continues.
Drive it home.

Who you callin' little?
Traffic? This is I90 we're talking about here.
Do. It.
Big decision, Marty. How many days do you think it would take?
If you decide to fly-in and drive your new beast home be sure your phone is always charged and you have your triple A paid up. There is a long ways of a lot of nothing on that route and cell phone used to be spotty at best. We drove that route once once from Seattle in the Cobras going to London, OH for the Spring Fling. Not a lot of traffic except for oil trucks and not a lot of police presence either, so you can hi-ball your car for a bit, gas stations were few and far between also, top off whenever you can.
The thought of having my car on a transport riding below another car that leaks oil onto my baby for 3,000 bumpy miles would driver me crazy. I'd absolutely do the drive. In my experience, with some shippers you don't always get the position in the transport you think you're getting!
Can't wait to see that beauty at Carlisle next spring, Marty!
If you had the time, there's a lot of beautiful driving country in British Columbia and Alberta, as well as the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park and the Beartooth Highway in Yellowstone.
Watch out for moose, though.
Before your trip, you probably should read this article about Canadian road signs:
http://www.bostonglobe.com/art...RNTOd0sQP/story.html
My brother drove that route when he returned from Alaska to Massachusetts (OK, it was in 1965). I don't think he dropped below 90 or so very much.
Maybe your 30 hrs drive time is expecting to drive the posted limits......Who does THAT?
Marty, it can be done, barring, home politics, work time off, etc etc not to mention your bordem level causing you to bury that needle..... Ray
Wheels are in motion for Transport so the adventure waits for future.

Jack, I've shipped my Cobra 4x on enclosed transport, once when I first bought it shipped from Chicago to Phoenix, then I shipped it(and two other cars) from Phoenix to Bainbridge Island, WA when we moved, then I shipped it from Seattle along with 4 other Cobra owners from Seattle to Columbus, OH and back for the Spring Fling. And finally I shipped from WA to CO, again when we moved. Twice the car being a convertible was placed on the upper lift by the shipper so it wasn't in danger of oil drips or leaks from a car above, and when we shipped to OH and back two of our cars were covered with tarps, the last time when we moved to CO it rode on the lower level and the shipper wrapped the entire car with visquine then placed a tarp cover over it--The Cobra was the last on, first off. I also shipped my unfinished '48 Anglia, the '33 Vicki, the '55 Chevy and my wife's '65 Mustang--got a discount for shipping multiple cars
The shipping companies and their drivers treated the cars as if they were their own and were extremely conscientious. Just my take and experience using three different companies over the years
That's a nice story G.R. The shipper took pains to make sure the car was not harmed---even wrapping them. I guess if you get a great shipper like our own wizard, or the shippers you are telling us about your car is going to be fine.
I didn't mean to say that all shippers are awful but I did read some internet horror stories when I was once looking for a shipper. Mine was ok too because there was only one lever so nothing could be put over my car.
Thanks for sharing those experiences!

Define "soon".
Its finally on the truck, they said 10/5.
Marty:
If it'll make you feel better, I can go out in my garage and sit there, looking at Pearl and listening to some nice "smooth Jazz" in the background, sipping on a Sam Adams seasonal Ale while I tinker with my BN2 heater test bed.
It's not YOUR car, but you can live vicariously through me. No charge.
I can even make "Vroom-Vroom" noises for ya.......Or, again, for no charge, I can ride around chasing the local kid with his WRX and get an authentic exhaust sound for ya....Your choice.
I am counting the days until the transport arrives. I have booked us into that last orginized drive of the season with the local club. Round trip will be about 400 miles with the back road detours thrown in. Should give me good time to get aquatinted with my winter/spring/summer upgrades.
Here is a snippet:
We’ll tour the scenic coastline of southwestern Lake Michigan where you’ll see remnants of it’s industrial past and watch the land transition into harbor country with picturesque back roads, villages & vineyards.
A factory-turned-distillery sets the mood at lunch Saturday before our afternoon drive through wine country. We’ll make a short stop at an exceptional new vineyard as we make our way north to Saugatuck. Those who are interested can enjoy a wine tasting before we continue to cruise the countryside to Saugatuck for the evening.
You’ll have a little time to yourself to check in to your hotel and relax (or explore quaint Saugatuck & Douglas) before the evening festivities. We’ve arranged a special room rate for those who are quick to act, and there are numerous charming B&Bs in the area for those looking for intimate lodgings.
The evening will start with private local wine tasting and local craft beers during our cocktail hour at a one of the area’s best art galleries and wine bar. The vibe will be casual and relaxed. Plenty of time for conversation and exploring the proprietor’s gallery and wine shelves. But, be careful not to overdo at the wine tasting because you’ll want to enjoy the farm to table dinner catered by one of Saugatuck’s most sought after caterers. Our private dinner will be in a rustic-chic barn across the courtyard from the lower gallery. And, we’ve arranged to have the barn and courtyard to ourselves after dinner in case people want to have night caps there instead of hitting the local bars.
No doubt many of us will be up til the wee hours, but save some steam for breakfast and the scenic ride the next morning. If you’d rather sleep in, catch a later breakfast and mosey home on your own, go right ahead.
Cafe Macchiato over and out.

WOW!
Terrific excursion, Marty. Watch out for those "Wine Tastings!"
Especially like the lodgings and "Farm to Table" dinner. All we got on our last tour was a 45 minute ride to "Hot Dog Annie's"
Marty,
Nice.
Hot Dog Annie's ain't bad, Gordo. Second only to Coney Island in Worcester. I bet you have a photo of that great neon sign.
Marty
If your first drive is anything like mine, you'll be one happy camper! The extra power is addictive...
Enjoy.
Marty,
Congratulations. Sounds like you and your Illinois group are heading to Michigan (dates?) instead of Wisconsin this year. When can we get together before we shut 'em down this year? Don't forget, I still have your shirts and polisher.
Rich, yeah I almost forgot about that stuff. Next weekend is now tentative because Sandy got sick yesterday:-(
I want to meet up before I put the car away.
I open the mail today and the President Of Stanistan sent me what I have been looking for for (can you say for for) going on two years. Starting to feel normal again:-) I just need a car to put it on.

Excellent! Nice score.
Glad you like it, Marty. The colors were just wrong for my car.
They're just right for yours.

Check out on Monday. This way Pay Pal won't shave off the top.
Marty I'm waxing my badge on the car, if it's any consolation it wasnt that long ago I was in your shoes....
Careful, man. Talk of "waxing my badge" might conjure up Vinnie. Then, before you know it, the whole site goes down.
