Here is my plan. 4:30 AM--- Get out of bed, receive death threat from wife for disturbing her sleep. 4:45 AM ---SSS, coffee, get dressed. 5 AM ---pull onto HWY 5 amid late night drunks, and other people crazy enough to be awake at 5 AM. 6-6:30 AM. ---Arrive Cars and Coffee, get a good spot with the rest of the SOC Knucle Heads. Ogle expensive, odd, beautiful, exotic, cars and women. 9 AM--- Breakfast cruise to Coast Hwy, followed by more ogling of cars, women etc. I think that about covers my day!
Well that looked like fun! I am very sorry I missed out but I can make it the Saturday after the 4th weekend. That would be July 12th.

Did my local cruise and the engine tin sealing really kept the car cool, it never really warmed up to standard temp. Got the little car up on the ramps tonight for an early Sun valve adjust (don't think it needs it but I have to check). Maybe I will put on my headlamp guards also.

Jim great pictures thanks. What was this about a Malibu cruise? A little out of my territory but you never know.

Cheers
Dave

Dave, if you can make the dana point run then we hope you can jump up north to join us too. I would like to meet you and see that tub of yours. But, I also understand your position on break in and making a long run too. I am sure Jimbo is planning a sweet run north for us and we'll probably meet somewhere in OC or just off PCH near Huntington beach or something like that.. Lokking forward to it too...

Things are looking good for making a cruise in the near future. I did my first valve adjustment since 1970 (on my 59? Bus)it was a small window anyway with a camper setup and it had real safari windows in the front. I went from my MGA to the bus which was quite a shock. More size but much less power but I have many memories of great Baja surf trips.

I had totally forgotten how to do it. Watched the bug me video this morning and flashed on doing it so many years ago! It was a good thing I checked the valves because the valves were very tight!

I will feel better about winding her up on longer cruises. My daughter was very helpful in wrenching the generator back and forth to insure the correct flywheel position.

Trying to get my registration completed. Tomorrow I go to the smog referee for the out of state smog check, even though I am smog exempt. Should be interesting and one of the reasons I adjusted the valves today. The Plugs and dissy looked very fresh, the PO Joe P. told me he had a recent tune up. I will write up my experience in a newbie post.

Dave -

There's a few of us SOC'ers planning on going to the 356 Concourse D'Elegance in Dana Point! If you haven't been to one of these, it's pretty cool.

C&C would be too crazy of an early start for you (event time is 07:00-09:00am), so instead, maybe a few of us can meet for breakfast in San Clemente and then head over to the 356 Concourse show!

I'll post something about that tomorrow sometime.

Here are a few pics from previous 356 Concourse shows in Dana Point.

Peace - Out!

I'm over it right now. We're going out to Lake Havasu for a looong 4th weekend.Let me see what I can break out there, It's usually battery isues. With gas prices I probably won't put many hours on the boat!! I'll figure out what to do with Speedie next week, but I will be back on the road real soon!! Thanks again guys for all your support last weekend.
Later, Markos
With all the other nice SOC Speedsters at C&C last weekend, it looks like by some fluke of happenstance my 13 year old, 75K mile VS made the photo spread (I think this was taken just after Tom & Candace drove off in their coupe)...
