It requires 2 wires for power from your accessory power connector, signal wire to your existing radio or head unit, and the power wires, usb and vga connectors to the screen, that's it! You can even take the system from car to car.
to play music and audio this system uses your existing radio or head unit and speakers, It is recommended that the head unit have an aux input for simplicity, if yours does not have one, you can use an inexpensive tape adaptor or fm transmitter, however best audio quality is acquired with the aux input
Is possible to install your system without a radio, cd player, headunit or cassette player and connect the carpc to an amplifier and speakers, however you will not have am/fm radio, there are aftermarket fm tuners for pc computers , having a head unit (cassete player or cd player etc.) in the car provides a couple of advantages, it lets you listen to radio with the computer turned off, and provides the remote signal to turn on and turn off amplifiers, crossovers etc.
