Car shipping question . . . .

Has anyone ever had a car shipped to the North East? I was wondering about the problems and cost of getting a car brought up from Alabama To Massachusetts.

This ride has ME written all over it. I think that, if I combine it with the parts on hand and the pieces still on their way, I'd have a good basis for what I'm planning next.

Have had several shipped as of late. Shipping is no big deal but it costs $. Probably looking at close to $1K to ship it from AL to MA.

I've shipped with InterCity lines, based in Warren, MA, quite a few times. They typically run a pretty cheap "Snowbird Special" for the Northeast/Southeast route (I think it is ~$800-1000).

That car is definitely drag racer material. From my experience,depending on carriers, $700 to $1,000 will get the car delivered.

If all goes as planned, it will have my aluminum block 3.9 Rover V8 in it. If I can't find the bigger/better Buick 300 heads for the 3.9, the motor will end up being a 4.1 liter Buick/Caddy V6.

This time around the engine will be rear mounted and the body will end up (hopefully) with an Abarth flavor to it.

Plans so far, anyway. I've got the pieces (mostly), just have some fabricating to work out for the cage/engine supports/trans brace. I just bought a back-up Ghia, but I'm still looking for a fiberglass nose . . . that's how I found THIS car. He won't sell the nose separately, so . . .

I just used Triple B car Haulers open carrier, ( 912 748 0932 very resonable , Bill shows up on time and delivers on time (3 days door to door from Pa to Wy) ....I will use them again .

Thanks for all the help guys, it's kinda scary for me just jumping into something new like this, all done up at such arm's length and all. Great to hear that everyone's experience was a good one!
